ON HOLD - HARRY BUNCE

10th - 25th July 2020

Returning to his Somerset studio on the eve of the lockdown, Harry Bunce found it impossible to focus. Exhibitions were cancelled, galleries were shut, all ideas that had seemed current were outdated overnight.

This hiatus lasted for several days, then inspiration came from that which could not be ignored, the extraordinary situation unfolding across the country.

With funding in short supply and all but essential travel restricted he worked on small scale pieces made from materials lying around the studio.

The results are both haunting and charming, forming a unique document of the UK in the spring of 2020. The twenty-seven pieces featured here were shown as an exhibition in the City of Bristol to benefit NHS charities.

Join us from 10am July 10th as we exhibit Harry's poignant and memorable moments from Lockdown.
