Thorie Hinds

Paintings are intuitive and personal. My connection to the outside world is explored and referenced through emotions, reactions, responses, memories. Interior landscapes are made visible; a balancing of shape and line, colour and texture, light and atmosphere.

Acrylic paint, pastel, graphite, watercolour, charcoal, coloured pencils, dry and metallic pigments are used on paper, canvas and wood panels.

The paintings are dramatic, captivating, immersive, but also offer moments of stillness and calm.

Thorie Hinds was born and raised on the Canadian Prairies, awarded an MFA with honours in painting from the University of Windsor, Canada and currently lives and creates in Exeter, Devon.
