Michael Praed is one of the most popular contemporary Cornish painters working today. Working in oil, pastel and gouache, he is renowned for his semi-abstracted fishing boats, harbours and cliffs, which beautifully capture the energy, light and colours of the Penwith coastline.

Praed is a member of the Penwith Society of Artists and former chairman of the Newlyn Society of Artists. He has been exhibiting his atmospheric paintings of the Cornish coastline both in the UK and abroad for over forty years.
