MARY FEDDEN was born in Bristol, and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art 1932 – 6. She became the first woman tutor at the Royal College of Art where she taught between 1958 – 64. She has had numerous major exhibitions in London and the provinces and her work is held in many private collections including that of H M The Queen. She was president of the Royal West of England Academy and was elected R.A. in 1992. She was married to artist Julian Trevelyan.
